Phoenix

Staying at the Saguaro, have a couple of meetings on Friday day but will stay through Saturday. May 8 -10th

Any tips as to where, what...restaurants, lounges, things to do? I used to go but haven't been in about 5-6 years.

You left out where you are staying. ;) Will you have a car? Time to travel a bit?

Staying at the Saquaro in Scottsdale, used to stay at the James but that's now closed. Will have a rental.

Looking forward to being there, it's been too long.

OWP is supposed to be here on the 8th, so I think some of us were planning a GTG in the Mesa/Gilbert area if you want to try to come down for that? Still haven't ironed all those details out yet but we can try to get a plan together. The north valley guys will gripe, but hey, we met on the north side of town last time. ;)

For something off the beaten path, if you have time, and are into ancient sites, then I would recommend visiting the Montezuma Castle National Monument, the Tuzigoot National Monument, and Montezuma's well. They are kinda between Prescott and Sedona, about an hour and three quarters from Scottsdale.

I would recommend the Vig. Good drinks, food, nice atmosphere. I also agree with him!^^

And if you REALLY have spare time, Sedona is worth a visit, too.

Thanks for the input and the great ideas. I'm thinking drinks by the pool, maybe a little tennis but I drove over 20k miles last year so getting in the car isn't that much fun, especially in a rental.

I was trying to remember the places that I used to go when in Scottsdale, I remember RA was a good sushi place. Would love a cool lounge, no clubs nor hardcore bars.

Any ideas? TIA

AZ88 ( martini bar, all ages of adults and well dressed ) and RnR ( right on Scottsdale Rd with a balcony ) and many other are walking distance. Coach House is a great dive bar and close. StingRay Sushi has excellent food and great happy hour deals. I avoid RA. Culinary Dropout ( eclectic decor, casual, trendy, I saw a smooth jazz female singer there ). I hear Olive and Ivy is excellent.
