wow. more than 2100 people buried alive!!

my neighbor's kids just rang my doorbell and asked if we would donate to the cause. they are from there, and it really hit home for them. as awful the natural disaster..just handing cash over to them feels weird. i might just donate to red cross in their name?

i will donate for sure..just need to work out the mechanism.

you guys hearing any news of this? i am watching the news now and have not heard of it.

I saw a bit about it, it looks more like the side of the mountain collapsed than a mudslide. I've been near that area of Afghanistan and it is quite rugged. That is also the only place I have ever "felt" an earthquake; apparently they are common there.

NYT's called it a landslide three days ago.
