I'm going to Oak Tree Gun Club in Newhall, CA tomorrow anyone want to go?
I'm itching to try my new S&W 40 Shield. I'll probably bring my 30 year old S&W 9mm as well. Anyone want to go? Most anytime tomorrow works for me. If around meal time, I'll put a few burgers on the grill afterwards, I live about two miles away.

A lightweight gun firing .40 S&W, phew, should be fun
![]() I got rather a surprise the other day. I fired my model 36 Chiefs Special .38 special and wow, big bang and recoil, whereas I'd always thought of .38 special as pop gun bullets LOL. |

I can't wait to bring out a couple new toys. Hi-point 995 and AR-15 (5.56). Guess I should get some ammo next week!

I'm up for it. If you want to go to Oak Tree in the AM we can come back to my crib for a few burgers or steaks afterwards, as you know its only about two miles away.
Took it out today for the first time with my 25 year old son (he brought his AR-15 knockoff). Man is that 40 tight! I only fired about 100 rounds, mainly because the magazine springs were so strong. I had a hard time pushing in 5 rounds in the 6 and 7 round magazines by hand. Got home and my son turned turned me on to his magazine speed loader. Much easier to stuff the mags with it! Never seen one before. The 40 shoots nice, and a bit more kick than my old S&W 9. Much easier to take apart and clean and reassemble then my old 9, but the 9 has a nice old fashioned quality feel to it, plus its been broken in for the 25 years I've owned it.

I'm good for Saturday. Hope we make this happen. And Hugh, I've got 2 cases of Negro Modelo that I got off a show to throw into the mix.

Oak Tree has changed, you can't buy beer there anymore until after you are done shooting for the day. If they catch you drinking and then going out to shoot, they will escort you off the property. I agree with that policy.
I may bring all my weapons of mass destruction, which are pretty limited in "mass". Embraer, mike come on down from the AV, bring the Italian pickup truck!
