Baseball rule change in order
On how they award wins to pitchers.
Yesterday the Giants beat the Dodgers in 10 innings. The Giants had a 2-run lead going into the bottom of the 9th, but Romo blew the save, sending the game into the 10th inning. Tim Hudson would have had the win. The Giants scored in the 10th, Machi saved it, and Romo got credit for the win. They should still give the win to Hudson. He pitched 6 good innings. Romo pitched one bad inning and got the win. This happens all the time. They should allow the score keepers to award the win to the most deserving, not the least deserving. |
Once the game is tied and you have a new pitcher then HE becomes the pitcher of record.
Stats suck. A guy can have an amazingly low ERA, yet if his team can't score runs he can have a negative win - loss record. |
that is goofy but I'm guessing the coaching staffs in MLB know who's who.

MLB Official Rules Since the subsequent pitcher allowed 2 base runners, the official scorer might have decided that wasn't effective enough to get the win under 10.17(c), even if nobody crossed the plate. |
They also need to change the rules to mandate that if a pitcher starts an inning, he finishes it, including the at bat for the non DH league.
Didn't know Tony had a brother that also chokes. |
They need to re-raise the mound and use the NL rules league-wide. That's real baseball.

Same with hockey new goalie comes in late gets the win
But it baseball he also gets a blown save which is not good for your record and the pitcher gets a no dec and not a loss |
