Why is this dog unhappy?

Because he just had his nuts cut off.

Is there something wrong with me finding this absolutely hilarious? Cheer up buddy, you'll feel better soon.

Its odd, I mention it at work and the women say "he'll be a better dog, or he'll get over it" The guys kind of turn green and get uncomfortable. I think a lot of women, when they're done having kids, would gladly say "OK, you don't need those anymore, time to go to the Vet".

The cone of shame!

herr_oberst 05-14-2014 07:01 PM

He's unhappy about the cone of shame.

Wait till he finds out why he had to wear it!

Apparently, a cat just kicked his butt.

I asked my son who was seven at the time if he knew what it meant for our dog to be neutered. He said "yeah Dad, he got his balls cut off!"

Sort of a historic line in our house.

It's also a North American thing. Vets in Europe don't routinely cut them off. Just had this discussion with my sister (DVM) a couple months ago when she discovered my fur kid was "intact".

Well, you wouldn't be too happy if someone took you to the doctor, had your balls chopped then put a cone around your neck so you could no longer lick your own stuff either now would ya? :)

But, think about it... Why is it OK for us to cut their balls off? The dog gets no say in the matter! If he had a choice would he be OK with it?

I get why we actually do this but someone please think of the pooches :D

So what do they do with all the leftover balls? Is that what McNuggets really are?

My poor little boy cat (Marshall) went in today to get "fixed"... for the first time (for me) we requested they leave him his "nuggets".

Fell kinda bad... first two days he just hide under the bed... finally comes out to explore then meets his two big sisters (who are twice his size but appear to be just as afraid of him) then he hides under the couch for a day... gets his courage back, comes out and starts exploring the house... and the wife scoops him up and runs him of to the vet. :(
