Too bad. There was a fight brewing, but we'll never know. Looks like it was not intentional, difficult to tell.

There's some talk of an investigation, and he may yet loose pole. He caused an end to quali so it might make sense to apply a grid penalty. We'll see.
|
It is being looked into.
|
No penalty! Hamilton will be even more motivated.

What I got out of today's quali
1. Childhood pals Hamilton and Rosberg are unlikely to be so cosy at the end of the season. Doubt if their respectful "you first, no you first" palsey walsey friendship will last much longer.
2. Massa never seems to be far from trouble, and not always his fault. 3. Surprise "real deal" drivers who emerged this year...Riccairdo, Kyvat, and Bottas among others 4. Toro Rosso (Vergne and Kyvat) are closing the gap to Red Bull 5. I fear Kimi's best before date is fast approaching. He seems uninterested anymore and I think he may have peaked last year. 6. Seems real tough to get a good rhythm during quali, perfect laps must be difficult. Just my opinion, probably wrong. |
Saw this on a friend's FB page and thought I would share... Kimi at his best, but wow, there were some stupid questions.

Thanks to NBC for cutting away from Hamiltons response as he was responding to some great pointed questions. Thats right, we want to listen to Leigh Diffey recap the Quali, not the drivers. Stupid NBC

I'm growing tired of him, also. I wish he and Vettel could team together.
|
I love how he b1tched over the radio that he should have been brought in before the safety car came out....as though it was someone's fault.
Hard to like the guy... |
Hamilton has started mind games against Rosberg his team mate
It requires a certain level of maturity not to turn this type of attack into a self destruct weapon I think Rosberg is too chilled to fall for these types of game, the rest of the season is going to get very interesting. Nanny Mc Niki will have his work cut out keeping the two of them in line working for the greater good of the team Shame there is no other teams close enough to apply pressure on their constructor championship hopes as a good old fashioned team mate war is not what any team wants when being hunted down by rivals. |
was the eye thing real or could HAM just not fight with ROS and made that excuse? No sign of the eye distress at the winner's circle. Oh, and you could have cut the tension there with a very dull knife. Will be interesting to see how this plays out in Canada
|
The eye problem was very odd.
|
He couldn't see himself getting around his teammate.
|
I thought the eye problem was an excuse for his lack of dominance of Niko. In a post race interview when asked about the eye problem his quick reply was "it's not important." And not so much as a rub of the eye. Very fishy. Appears he is the same jerk he was in previous years.

Watching it live I thought that was a bona fide "oops" moment from Rosberg.
Now I'm reading from people that are usually well informed that he *probably* did it on purpose and that the steering wheel movement was not required as the back end wasn't sliding, telemetry "seems" to confirm that, and that's apparently the opinion of most drivers on the grid. No idea... bear in mind those are british journos, probably slanted... Either way, whatever admiration I had regained from Hamilton this season evaporated when he started sulking like a little girl, whining, hinting, threatening to do a Senna on the start (then saying he was just joking), not acknowledging his rival on the podium, then using one-liners at interviews... He has the pace to take the high road... he did not ! His bit about Nico not being hungry because he grew up son of a world champion in Monaco was tasteless too (As a kid and competitor to Young Nico, Lewis was invited *many* times over the years to enjoy the Rosberg residence, boat and plane. Hell of a way to say "Thank you"). Now I got him back to "whiny brat that didn't get his way", regardless of what happened...I hope Rosberg did it on purpose. When Hammy won 4 in a row, Rosberg hated it but was unfailingly gracious about it - especially when it came up that Hamilton had violated team orders on rev limits to prevent Rosberg from passing him in that Barcelona battle... (Rosberg did the same thing previously, but my point is about grace under pressure). Have you heard Hamilton on the radio? If I was his engineer, I'd tell him to show more respect or STFU, at times... It's gonna get ugly... I think Hamilton is way more talented, but I kinda hope he self destructs and Rosberg beats him by one measly point ;-) PS: Funny quote form Brundle: Looks like Ricciardo got Weber's drive, but Vettel's got Weber's car. |
|
1) I do think there was something in Hamilton's eye. He lost 4 seconds in one lap and then got back on the pace. I used to have contacts that would occasionally slip. I understand what it is like.
2) Hamilton *****ing about a not being called in two laps earlier is BS. His team are not psychics. 3) Rossberg pulled quite a stunt with his off during qualifying. Game on. |

Ask him a genuine question - and you'll get a very straight, and sometimes even talkative answer. He's a very friendly guy if you've ever met him, and you're not a reporter asking silly questions. |
