Cool. Thanks for posting that. I enjoyed it. I still like my 911 Start up the most. ;)

Great!
If they would have had a minute for each car, I would have listened to the whole thing!
Nice visuals as well.

I've seen many of those cars in the vault at the Petersen. highly recommended during a visit to LA.

Surprised me but the 356 and the corvette were my favorite

The first "music" begins at about 2:37 when the track is cleared. Then a warmup lap. Then at 6:48 the beatings begin...

I'm stuck between Jag XKSS and TT-Saleen S7.

XKSS is angry, and mechanical with great compression and snap.

The S7s starter has to labor for the turn over, then the engine grasps ignition and as it explodes to life. meanwhile the incredible whirrr of the turbos beginning to spool becomes increasingly obvious as the newly introduced air flows through them...truly awesome.

Best part. I played this loud in the office late afternoon yesterday. I figured the "tech-guru" I work with (who owns a stock Focus ST he thinks has twin turbos and Nissan GT-RS are supercharged) would enjoy it.

He pipes up at the end with this gem, "My car makes more power than all of whatever that junk noise was you were playing..."

Made for a good laugh to end the week.

That was a lot of fun! Ferrari F40 EASILY!

kach22i 05-24-2014 07:49 AM

I'm guessing that who ever put this together didn't like Porsche's very much.

Where was the infamous Ferrari black smoke on start up?

Great video, very curious how some cars were revved while others were let to idle on automatic choke or via electronic warm up.

Now I feel much less guilty! Thank you!!!!

Very cool video, thanks for posting; all of the guys here at work enjoyed and placed their votes for favorites.... F40 hands down

Dantilla 05-24-2014 11:31 AM

Sorry, but to my ears, none of those cars can compare to the many youtube videos of old radial aircraft engines starting with their big chuff of smoke out the exhaust.

I love the sound of a supercharged V-12 flying by though.
