Best way to fix this speaker?

Craig's List find, a pair of B&W 601-2s for $80. Connected to my Hafler/Rotel power/pre amps, amazingly clean and clear with great detail.

Someone long ago tried for the Nautilus look by adding HiVi tweeters and disconnecting the B&W ones. Problem is one of the tweeter mounts is broken and there isn't enough wire to get it back into the track. I think I have to either take the tweeter apart or the 601 apart. If I go with the latter, any ideas on how to enter the cabinet? Pull the back speaker connector panel or pull the main speaker?

I'm no expert on that particular model, I presume the back panel is a small square with speaker connectors?
In which case I would also presume the larger opening is the bass speaker, looks like that would give the best access.
Maybe post a pic of the back?

Nice score by the way.

Tweeters got to mount from the front somehow. I wonder if that surround is just snapped on? I recently refurbed a pair of Infinities. Check the rubber cups that hold the speaker grill on. On the Infinity the rubber cups pull out and there are hidden screws that allow the speaker face plate to come off. -J

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This. It's a B&W so a sawzall would undoubtedly help the sound.

I have a pair of 601 s2 in my digital system and I think they are great! Perfect for my small living room/kitchen area.
