I hate meeting new people and pretending to give a damn

about what they're saying.

I do like it when people are generally interesting, though. So, I quite enjoy that. It's just that there's so many boring ones out there.

Rusty914s 05-23-2014 05:41 AM

Imagine when interesting people get to meet you...

AFC-911 05-23-2014 06:22 AM

You don't know **** about me. I'm a creative so I'm generally outgoing. But lately, I'm just finding that there are a lot of uninteresting people out there.

To make a better point. I feel that my time should be better spent around meaningful and interesting people...I don't want to be asked the same 3 boring questions of (where are you from, what do you do, etc).

The conundrum is that one can't find interesting and meaningful people without sifting through the boring ones.

I love this place.

50% are below average. Strangely, it seems, more than 50% want to talk about only sports or the weather. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/sleep.gif

Have your secretary call you 5 minutes into this type of meeting. If still interested, ignore the phone, if not, excuse yourself for an important call.

Gogar 05-23-2014 06:45 AM

I hate it when I meet new people and it's obvious that they're not even paying attention. At that point I just spew some crap about the weather or sports and then move on to some genuinely interesting people.

Shaun @ Tru6 05-23-2014 06:47 AM

What makes you interesting? What topics do you consider interesting?

Anyone else getting an Andy Warhol vibe?

scottmandue 05-23-2014 06:55 AM

When I meet an extremely boring person I stab them in the eye with a pencil... not only does it send them away quickly it makes them easy to spot by other people at the party.

island911 05-23-2014 07:12 AM

The OP assertion is pretty much why we all spend so much time here. --some interesting topics; And SO easy to just walk away from the drabsters. (that's my new word for the day)

Tervuren 05-23-2014 07:17 AM

I used to be more "interesting" but touchy people complain a lot, so I've dumbed myself down.

More of an Arsehol vibe.

slakjaw 05-23-2014 08:33 AM

"I'm a creative"

Lol. That is all.

VincentVega 05-23-2014 08:47 AM

Too funny. Reminded me of Office Space.

"the dull and the ignorant...they too have their story"

You don't have to "care", but that you lend an ear...that's what brings people together and bonds them.
