Thanks a bunch USPS!
Ordered a tool last weekend from Pelican o finish my project this weekend.
Anyone think it might be here in tomorrow's mail? In Virginia? Priority my ass. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1400881225.jpg |
Just think how bad the USPS would be if it were a government-run entity.
Wait... oh, well. Hope it gets to you tomorrow. |
Hope you don't run into my situation...
Don't remember what part it was I bought, but the company sent it to me; it made it all the way from Wisconsin (I think) to Arizona, before USPS decided to arbitrarily "return to sender." Took me over a month to get that damn part. The company was great, though. |
What do you need Steve? If it doesn't show up call me, I can meet ya halfway
|
Sorry to see it Steve, but in my experience, the exception, not the rule. My stuff came in yesterday from Pelican, 2 day, and I ship a ton of stuff via USPS, always gets there fast. The flat rate boxes are excellent, especially the board game box.

I had some wheels and tires shipped out from CA last week Monday via Parcel Post and expected delivery was today. Lo and behold, they arrived this morning at 8 am!

Whenever shipping choices come up, I always ask myself one single guiding question:
Do I need it now, or do I just kind of want it one day? |
I've been fuched by USPS several times recently and often think the best thing for everyone would be if they just went out of business. Unfortunately the other carriers are just not competitive for small packages but I use UPS whenever feasible.
The latest USPS failure was so pathetic it's almost funny - I sent a small item back east via Priority Insured but it was never delivered. The tracking data showed "unclaimed" but the address was correct and the addressee was there, and simply never got it. So, I filed the insurance claim and got a check. Then a couple days later, USPS returned the package to me. I shipped it a second time and it arrived fine. This cost me a month of lost time but I came out $192 ahead... |

Or maybe you're just spewing anecdotal evidence and masquerading it as a statistical counterpoint. Also, nothing new for you. But by all means keep trying... you're hilarious. :D |
Wait till you deal with smart post. USPS and Fed-ex working together.....

Sorry but that's on pelican. USPS priority mail is not 2 day. It's a suggested 2-3 day shipping time but can take as long as it takes. If I paid extra for 2 day shipping and it showed up via priority I'd be pissed.

I usually pay the extra 50% for UPS.

Just looked... As of may 24th at 7:08 PM it was still in LA.
I could have machined my own tool at this point. |
Existentialism is a term applied to the work of certain late 19th- and 20th-century philosophers who, despite profound doctrinal differences,[1][2][3] shared the belief that philosophical thinking begins with the human subject—not merely the thinking subject, but the acting, feeling, living human individual.[4] In existentialism, the individual's starting point is characterized by what has been called "the existential attitude", or a sense of disorientation and confusion in the face of an apparently meaningless or absurd world.[5] Many existentialists have also regarded traditional systematic or academic philosophies, in both style and content, as too abstract and remote from concrete human experience.[6][7]
Søren Kierkegaard is generally considered to have been the first existentialist philosopher,[1][8][9] though he did not use the term existentialism.[10] He proposed that each individual—not society or religion—is solely responsible for giving meaning to life and living it passionately and sincerely ("authentically").[11][12] Existentialism became popular in the years following World War II, and strongly influenced many disciplines besides philosophy, including theology, drama, art, literature, and psychology.[13] In the search for meaning, ''I didn't get what I wanted, when I wanted it.'' is pretty low on the telephone pole. However, ''VA Steve didn't get his package, therefore the ENTIRE system is broken.'' is even lower. How about ''Life is good.'', or ''Everything happens in its own time.'' ? My personal favorite is, ''Car repairs always cost more, and take longer than you think.'', followed by, ''I think maybe you need a new hobby.''. FWIW, I'm a curmudgeon. Every day I have to decide to do something better with my mind and my time. ''I really didn't get what I wanted.'' isn't an option for me, as it involves too many dead people, and things from the past that I can never change, as much as I would like to. Snap out of it. |
