German Translation please

I've tried to find some of this online myself, but since I don't speak German and the script is old fashioned (nearly 125 years old), I have had a hard time.

In case the context helps, these are from a church that was built by German Lutheran farmers in Texas in 1891.

The first:
Blessed Are You
God's Word
Listen and keep.

The second says something like:
The Lord will protect you outside and inside

That tested my skills!

My grandmother wrote in an older style of German, so I recognized most of the letters.

Plus I just had a conversation with my parents and the old style "s" which could be written "f" in early English and since there is a crossover from German to English, I new the "f" was actually an "s".

I read it a little differently:

First line: Blessed are those who listen to God's word and heed it.

Second line: May the Lord watch over your entrance and exit, Amen!

Those are more accurate

In the second one I am not sure if it is refering to the church (building) itself or persons using the door.

The first one is also a bit confusing as it uses plural and singular mixed up

Seelig sind (plural) dir
Gottes Wort (singular)
hören und bewahren

It should be either (singular)

Seelig ist dir
Gottes Wort
hören und bewahren

or (plural)

Seelig sind dir
Gottes Worte
hören und bewahren

But it is common that those sentences are hard to understand.

And yes, the character that looks like a f in "Seelig sind dir" is a s:

It would be possible to interpret it as

Seelig sind dir hören und bewahren
Gottes Wort

Confusing as those "words of wisdom" often are, but possible.

Ha! My parents had a Borgward Isabella wagon in the early 60s.. I still remember the license plate- LOU102. It blew a head gasket on a vacation trip.
