So, I keep the landlord happy by fixing various things around the property and keeping his cars running well. In return, I get a workshop and he doesnt mind if I play Motorhead on the bass.

He came to me today with a Random misfire on his Jag S-type. The plugs on the driver's side bank were roasted. The passenger side requires remving the intake. I told him to just replace all the coils while in there. Thanks, Ford.



In doing so, two of the harness connectors broke. Anybody know if these connectors are Ford or Jag? Or is there a way to fix the problem here I havent thought of?

Well considering you can get the coils from your local ford dealership, my usual supply place for them, I would say you can get the connectors as well.

Looks like a regular old ford connector to me. You cannot even blame this one on the " Prince of Darkness"

Blame it on comically small gauge wire.

So are these connectors pretty easily obtained?

These arent the coil connectors that broke. These are for the motors that control the flaps in the intake.

You can take them apart, and resolder new wires to the old connectors inside, and re-assemble them, then splice back into the harness if you cannot get the connectors new That being said, they still look like a standard Ford connector. Maybe you can rape a salvage yard, and find two that work. Those jags are built like a hopped up Ford Taurus. There are tools to help release the connectors from inside the connectors. I have had to do this before, when in a pinch. You will be sick to see what the oem will charge you for a plastic connector and 12 inches of wire.

I also have a vendor who has nearly every kind of factory type connector available. Probably half the money of oem. Winzer is the name of the company, not sure if they sell to the public or not.
