What am I not seeing? No bids?

Saw this car yesterday and there are no bids. What am I missing? Video points out all the minor imperfections. Miles seem right. Price is ok? What's wrong with this car? :)

Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible 2 Door | eBay

Maybe buyers are contacting him directly with offers over $14K as he solicited.

Simply not a very desirable car.

Nostril Cheese 05-30-2014 07:27 PM

Its a 996 with an auto, ugly chrome rims and a bad upholstery job.

Steve Carlton 05-30-2014 08:45 PM

How could this car not be worth more than $11,000? The guy seems like a straight shooter, although he thinks paint chips can be "compounded out." He mentioned that a dealer privately confirmed the IMS bearing and water pump was done. Should be easy enough to have another dealer confirm that. I'm sure the seller is getting some action at $14,000 and above.

How much is one of these worth in a better color? The mileage is nice and low. The chrome wheels can't be a big deal to replace.

The vehicle has been reported as used as a fleet, rental, and/or lease vehicle. 7 different owners.

Yup. I've sold several cars on Ebay without ever getting a bid. It's great for free national advertising, frankly I prefer to not deal with the Ebay BS and sell outside of them anyway.

Cab, tip, chrome 17" wheels, basically no options. The 996 doesn't get much less desirable.

Tiptronic cabs are the cheapest 996's. The trophy wives have moved on.

Not to be a hater, but that about sums it.

Don't hold back... tell us how you really feel!

If I had $11K burning a hole in wallet I would be tempted... wheel are an easy change out.

However I have vowed that my next sports car will have a stick and probably a hard top. I was fantasy surfing autotrader yesterday (Porsche=under $15,000) and was turning my nose up at the tips, also interesting what you can get for $11K

add a turbo and you have the car I covet...keep in mind I own a 77 Targa, yup, I'm a 'untouchable' lover! :)

That thing is an aborted fetus. 99 car with a 02-05 front clip and just horrible panel gaps.

onewhippedpuppy 06-01-2014 06:19 AM

Good catch, I didn't notice that it was a 1999. That car probably has some stories....

GWN7 06-01-2014 09:06 AM

|Looks like there has been a price increase. Was $11k opening bid, now $12,900. Still 0 bids

:)
