I was reading an article that had a link to a petition, this is in reference to Walmart but how can any system survive?

Everybody pays the price for Walmart’s low-wage business model that Rob Walton loves. American taxpayers foot a massive $6.2 billion bill for government assistance, like subsidized health care and food stamps, that Walmart workers are forced to rely on because they earn so little. On the other side, Walmart’s CEO’s $25 million/year pay packet is 1142 times bigger than the average pay of its workers.

It's always someone else's fault/who can I sue?

Let see...

You are now willing to talk to Iran to see how to handle the 7,000 insurgent in Irak that are taking over the country... Good think you help them to get back on their feet.

Not too sure when it happen but you went from world leader to... A slow reactor with no teeths.

IMHO, you have to take a step back from corporate policies, government ideologies or minimum wage laws and examine the genesis of an individual's potential: the family unit.

Individuals, as a cumulative, determine the success of a nation.

It would be interesting to see statistics, but I have a hunch that the US is leading most of the world in the single-mom-with-multiple-children-from-multiple-fathers syndrome. IMHO, that is almost a guaranteed recipe for underperformance of the children involved, as well as their offspring.

I have several rentals in Albuquerque. They are all 3/2, newer homes in nice neighborhoods in excellent condition. In other words, they are not on the wrong side of the tracks. I've had a string of vacancies recently, and have had the pleasure of speaking with 5 or so potential applicants each and every day on the telephone. Now, let me preface this by saying that my Craigslist ads are designed to weed out the riffraff. I use very strong wording about "families", "reasonable credit", "no pets", "no Section 8", etc.

That said, 90% of my calls are from 21 year old single moms with 4 kids and a boyfriend. I have to believe that I've already weeded out maybe 95% of the people I truly don't want in my homes, and this is what I'm left with.

What are the chances that these kids, or their kids will make a difference in this country's future? Its extremely depressing.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST THREADS I HAVE EVER READ ON THIS BOARD...it really shows how each of you think and what you key off of. It is really self reflective.
