Board game recommendations
For good family time, without veging in front of the TV, we like to play fun board games. What are some games that you guys like? Any good new games? We have two daughters, 18 and 13, so games that require a lot of thought and strategy are good.
From my end, we like Rummikub and Settlers of Catan. |

We played Mille Bornes ALOT when I was a kid.
Loved it. http://www.amazon.com/Winning-Moves-1034-Collectors-Edition/dp/B00004SDAP |
We were playing Mansions and Money a couple weeks ago. My wife picked it up at the thrift store and all of us liked it pretty well.

I generally dont like games but Apples to Apples is good fun.

If we are going to play anything, it usually is card games like Euchre.

Can't think of the name off the top of my head...but it's just trains. You have to plan train routes across the U.S. (and part of Canada), and try to block others from accomplishing their routes. It's pretty fun.
Clue was always a favorite of mine...don't know why I haven't bought that one for the kids, yet... Monopoly, though it can get pretty heated in my household ;) Samurai Swords is a fun card game; my kids love it. And, it's not a board game, but any of the Just Dance games for the Wii can be fun for the whole family, and you get some exercise, too. |
For card games that is easy for all ages, scum comes to mind.

gacook, the train game you are thinking of is called "Ticket to Ride" and is indeed fun for the whole family. Played both the North American and Europe versions of that game.

Hilarious, but may be a but too R rated for the younger one. Stick to apples to apples for now. Same concept, but PG. |
