X-Men Days of Furture Past
Took my son and a few of his friends to see it last night. It was decent but found it a bit slow compared to other X-men movies. Frankly I'm getting a bit bored by them. seems like its always Hugh Jackmen. The guy is good and all but with so many characters you would think more could be developed.

My gripe with the X Men movies has always been what absolute pussies they are.
They get their asses kicked a lot. Think it's also that Wolverine is the only one of the good guys whose abilities are used "on the run" The others seem to have to stand there and focus on what they are doing. Their actions are not very dynamic.

Good movie, My sons are into the comic book thing and I had to listen to them ramble on about this super hero or that all the way home. I was racing my kart in my head so I have no idea WTF they were talking about.
I got popcorn and a coke I'm good. |

I just saw X-men about 2 hours ago. I really liked the concept of going back in time to change the present. Yea, I stayed away from the popcorn, my body can't handle the salt, and it was $17.50 for two pops and a large popcorn.

I Thought it was well done. Now they can spin it any way using the terminator 2 formula, alter the past to affect the present.
Quicksilver stole every scene he was in and that bit was done very well. I'll look forward to Xmen apocalypse. |

Did you guys not buy the comic books and graphic novels in the 80's?
Even in print, Wolverine was the star attraction. Scott has always been a diplomatic pu**y who wanted to reason things out, and Logan was always the guy who said "f**k it, let's just kill the bastards." Everyone else is just supporting cast. Comics like this are made to appeal to the adolescent little boys, the what is left of that boy in adults. Scott is a clean shaven wuss, Logan is a hairy man of action. Scott plays by the rules, Logan breaks them. Scott is troubled by the responsibility of 'what if my laser eyes hurt somebody' while Logan is troubled by all sorts of ***** from his past. And in the end, Scott gets the girl while Logan gets more remorse. Does anyone here still think that Star Wars was a story about Luke Skywalker?

Gave my son the option of seeing X-men or Spiderman this weekend; he chose the former. I thought it was pretty good, liked the concept. Cool that Gene is back now; wonder where they'll go with that.
My son LOVED it, so even if the movie had been crap, it was worth the price of admission. He's 7, so seeing the wonder in his eyes of how the 3D works, seeing his imagination taking over as he was watching the movie...that's the fun part for me.

nerd confession, i have the 1982 days of future past comic books sitting in a box in the loft. seems like every few years for the last 30 years a different team of writers has gone back to the original time travel story and laid another confusing layer of crap over the top of it.
the movie suffers because of this. but the ending is satisfying and wraps up a pot of loose ends from the other movies.

Made of it? Never did. His skelly was infused with / bonded with the adamantium.

I know that I've got 142 based on the cover art, but I'm not sure about 141. I'd have to go through my boxes. I really loved the Xmen and Daredevil from that time.

sorry, maybe i mis-asked a question. if logan went back to having a calcium bone structure in 1971 and wolverine wasn't created until 1977, would he still have adamantium. figure if the school is doing as well as it is, he never worked with dept h or dept k. or maybe the river was supposed to flow that way.

I just got back from watching this one. I thought it was very good. Wolverine was a major character in it, but it didn't seem like he was the primary character. It seemed like the story revolved around Magneto, Prof X and Mystique with Wolverine playing the role of a catalyst or supporting role.
Jennifer Lawrence made the Mystique "outfit" look pretty darn good. She's no Rebecca Romainj (sp), but that's ok. It looked like Hugh Jackman beefed up for the role a bit more than he had in the past. I liked it and like how they've used the time travel technique from the new run of Star Trek movies to allow them to rewrite things. Is it just me or did the guy that played Stryker look like he could have been the brother of Sean William Scott (Stiffler). Everytime he popped up on screen, I kept expecting him to do something goofy. ![]() ![]() Quote:

In the graphic novels Magneto could pull the iron from your blood...
