That's about the way it is. I still have the Commando I bought in '74, I should get it running again but my other bikes are working so well.

I usually find those sort of pieces pretty lame, but that is not bad - I like the "skiing to work" description.

I get it and I used to feel somewhat like him, but as the traffic got more dense and I got older I lost my interest in riding. The last two straws were the death of my friend, a long time rider who didn't even own four wheels most of his life. After 45 years of riding he was changing lanes in Vancouver, hit the grease strip, went down, and was hit by a truck. The other thing was getting my Z3. No helmet, no boots, no suit, it feels more like being "out there" than riding with all that armor on.

There's a reason many pilots own motorcycles -- about as close to a sense of flight as you can get with wheels on the ground.
