Why 37th and 38th @ Le Mans
I didn't get to see any after race commentary.
Can anyone tell me why the two 919s were classified 37 and 38 when they completed enough laps to finish 11th and 12th or so. I realize 20 was stationery @ the end but 14 was running. Did they fail to complete a certain number of laps right @ the end? |
Not sure on the discrepancy, but the #14 car was not classified as still running at the end because it only came out for one last lap...which was timed at something like 1 hour 50 minutes. The Porsche pits were right beyond the start-finish line, so when the car parked earlier, it had tripped the lap counter. Then when it left for the "last lap" of the race, it was still on the "lap" it had started an hour-plus earlier when it had parked...just beyond the start-finish line. There's some rule that if the lap takes over a certain excessive amount of time, the car isn't counted as still running.

I think that's it. Thanks Noah.
