Anybody have any input on the new amazon phone? I hear $200 bucks.....is there a contract who is the provider and how much is the monthly?

Contract only with AT&T only.

So, same old crap....just another accoutrement?

I want one... $200 with contract... $650 without... I will learn to live without it.

Same boat here. Cool looking toy (I started a thread yesterday, Joe Bob!), but I recently downgraded from a smartphone, and contracted service. Quite enjoying my $200/mo savings at this point...

Look at the Oneplus One, runs Cyanogen. Trouble is getting your hands on them.

The phone was created with Amazon's interests first, yours second. It's designed to have enough performance and features to be on par with existing phones, but the real intent is to have you buy more stuff from Amazon. I'm a Prime subscriber and I love the shipping, videos and music, but I have seen my spending increase over the past year, because it just so easy to buy stuff.
