Austria F1

Great quali on a beautiful track. Nice surprises at the front, should be a great race, at least into the first and second turns.

Sitting in a bar in Waidring , Austria waiting for the start right now.....Lovely day here.

Watched the Bon Fires on the mountaintops around the village last night to celebrate longest day of the year.......

Hmmm,
Seven out of the top ten finishers with one supplier's engine.

Looks like a route to me.

Best

I went there two yrs. ago as it's right by a friend's house, and the local bike club was just finishing their last run session. Very cool place.

Is it weird that all season long, Hamilton's pit stops have consistently been .5-1 second slower than Rossberg's?

Beautiful track. And just about every flag girl was absolutely gorgeous, too.

Did the guys who finished in P3 and P4 lose the race because of inferior pitstop strategy?

Yep, sure looks like they did. A shame. And yes, I, too, appreciated the pretty girls in their traditional dresses.

Or maybe not. Chief engineer Rob Smedley is quoted this morning as saying that there was no way that Williams could have beaten the Mercedes juggernaut. He said the team's strategy was the only one it could have used because of tire life. I'm not sure I understand that, but there it is.
