Sounds like they're trying to give the term "military escort" a new meaning.

Dear Capt. Anthony,

I regret that I'm unable to assist you with your belongings at this time. I am under investigation by both the Commerce Committee and US Customs relating to trying to help out two other servicemen in a similar manner
six months ago.

While I cannot go into further details about my investigation (for obvious reasons) I would suggest that you delete my email address from your accounts.

I am quite certain that my accounts are being monitored and I would hate to put your career into a compromising position even though I played no part in any wrongdoing I assure you. You might want to consider changing your email service provider (as I see your email address is not a government address) and possibly exchanging computers or having your existing hard drive destroyed and installing another in its place.

I wish you the best in A'Stan (keep your head down) and I do wish that I could help you out. I myself am ex Navy so I understand how difficult it is to move what little belongings we are afforded during our service.
