How to bury a curse.

The Murse and Nurse and Hearse threads got me thinking; things could realistically be going a little better for me, and frankly, it feels like there's some sort of voodoo that's conspiring to sort of keep me trapped at the bottom of a bleak valley.

We all know the feeling, like nothing is going right, but this latest bout has been going on for more years than I care to admit to and I need to get something positive going again!

Is there any way to shake this ethereal malaise and get back to the good fortune that I used to take for granted?

I have been having those same feelings myself. Seems like I have that little black cloud hovering over my head.

Even if I could bury my curse, she'd just show up on my doorstep later that night...vampires do that all the time.

It's called depression? See a professional.

Yes it's called fighting your demons and losing. Don't fight them on your own.

Perhaps its time you visit a Chinese massage parlor. :)

Put a rooster in your house for a week. Set the rooster free.

Done. :)
My Chinese friend did this. I Didn't ask.

You can't have rainbows, without rain.

Life is a roller coaster ride sometimes.

Stress is simply wasted energy worrying about things outside your control.

count your blessings in life, no matter how small. I'm sure you're having a much better day than someone bleeding in the back of an ambulance getting rushed to ER.

I've bled in a ambulance along side my wife on a backboard for 45 minutes to a hospital...........bummer, this happened on the night of our 17th wedding anniversary when a 77 year old lady hit us head on and pushed us 37 feet backwards after she panic'd and floor the gas pedal when the airbag went off.

Trust me, 6 years later I count it a blessing I have a wrist and foot that hurts, instead of no wrist at all.

anytime you see an ambulance on the road, somebody is having a very bad day. :(

so while the car died, we lived. Count your blessings every day.

The only way to break a curse is to perform three random acts of meaningful kindness.

One or two acts of meaningful kindness will subdue most garden variety curses. But for a real doozy, you need lay down THREE to whoop the curse. The kindness just saps the strength out of the curse, it is like sunlight to a vampire.

Excellent! I'm game. The first kindness will be for a Pelican, and since the Monterey Parade just ended, there will be a Parade theme.

First PM gets this warm Portland Parade jacket, size XL; I'll even pay the shipping!

This jacket is like brand new, rarely worn. It's warm enough for late fall or early winter. I bought it as a souvenir when the Parade came to town, lo, those many years ago....

(Thanks, Angela. This is good advise no matter what state of mind a person is in!)

Do something off your bucket list. Monaco GP, climb a mountain, visit the Taj Mahal, whatever.

Take up a new activity, something totally out of your experience or comfort zone. Painting classes, rock climbing, archery, surfing, Japanese lessons, dance classes.

Get assessed for depression. I remember my SAD/light thread from a year ago. It made a difference.
