X-band for speed detection was last used in about 1987, in rural Alabama.

Which I why I shut off xband on my v1. Filters out a lot of the BS around town

After a few days of owning my new V1, I have had a few false alerts from big rigs on the K band some X. But I rather have it then not to. I drive 218 miles round trip for work daily and sometimes I would like to get through it as fast as possible. There has been several occasions where the KA band would light up. I rather have that then the lights behind me lighting me up to be pulled over. I cruise around a 100mph-110 on the open hwy.

How do you do that?! |

I drive ~140 miles a day for my internship. A majority of that is on the mass pike. Waze (iphone/droid app) has told me about 95% of the speed traps that I have encountered way ahead of time. There are some false positives, but overall I have found it to be very useful. Keep in mind that it is only useful if other people around you use it (it usually will give you that statistic). Give it a shot and see...it is free.

Waze is amazing. And free.

I drove from LA to SF and back last week on the 5 and almost every single truck was doing about 70 mph. I haven't seen a semi really hauling ass in quite a while.
