Missed it but was planning to watch. Will DVR!

Rhona Mitra!!!
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1403758735.jpg Of course I watched it! Noticed some glaring technical errors in the script though. For example, they were on station for four months running under radio silence and in secret. Later when approaching the dead cruise ship, the engineer reports that they are down to 11% fuel capacity and will run dry in six hours. If 11% of your fuel is depleted in six hours, how do you operate for 4 months without resupply?? |
What's the premise?
|
More than a few glaring technical errors.
It's possible to refuel from other ships during the 4 month artic stay. the mains don't have to be running all the time so just on GTG's fuel can last a good while. Someone asked me how far can a DDG go on a tank of fuel. " To the next unrep". All the weapons engagements were horribly inaccurate but then again I know way more that the average Joe citizen. The plot I guess will be cool for pure entertainment and the hot scientist chic pictured above. Next week they are in Gitmo the part I was in was Desert island didn't get too far to see ANY sights. |
I'm thinking the show is fake.

We watched the pilot on a whim (think we were watching something and it was on after it).
I liked it but am a little disappointed... I thought it was a movie not a series... I like the plot/premise but don't see how they can keep it alive as a series... I fear it will die a slow, painful, boring death (pun intended). However wife is hooked so it is on the DVR schedule. I'm not even military and I noticed a bunch of errors. Question for the Navy folks, are all ship captains hunky, chiseled, macho dudes? Doubt the show would have legs with a chubby, balding dude wearing glasses. And of course all female scientist are HOT,HOT, HOT!!! It just goes without saying. ;) Another Question for Navy folks, they saw the nuke coming, would they not have shut down all the electronics if they knew that was going to happen? |
Did anyone else notice what the cruise ship was?

Queen Mary?

Shot a bit in San Diego and the ship interiors are on stages 4 and 5 at Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach. The sets are still standing, so season 2 is pretty much a definite. 15 episodes in the can for season 1.
|
I thought it was funny when the ship was approaching the "Mayport Navy Base in Jacksonville, FL" and you could clearly see the mountains of the Cali coast in the distance. No budget for CGI to change the background?
I lived in JAX for over a decade......the only bumps on the horizon are the municipal landfills! |

if we are going to find glaring inconsistencies..may as well state the obvious. i saw the previews for the next show. apparently a russion ship captain chases them around..so the title should really be, "Probably the LAST TWO ships". :D
|
I watched it ..... the being was like a Navy recruitment add.
