Things that have been invented that you wish were more common

The obvious answer is the jetpack,

Practically speaking though, I'm going to say the bidet.

Yep. The bidet.

A bit of civilization that has just never caught on in America.

(And you thought I was going to say the fleshlight. No. Eww.)

Courtesy, decency, & sense? Though I suppose those don't count as inventions...

I had a bidet until I remodeled my house. My grandsons used it to wash their hands when they were little.

one problem with bidets is that they are ridiculously expensive

in my 17yrs in the plumbing biz I have seen a handful

I had a customer couple months ago that needed one replaced, I priced the bidet and faucet which was about $1500 wholesale
the customer opted to pay me to remove it

this is my bathroom, every man needs one!!!

We've lost style in our society......that was invented.....but left behind for the most part.

Progress.

Oh, man don't say that! I threw mine in the dumpster. It had probably only washed half a dozen different private areas. :(
I dig the face wash station next to your toilet. Problem with those is at parties drunk girls want you to hold them up so they can pee in them.

herr_oberst 07-02-2014 05:17 PM

I bought a bidet attachment for less than fifty bucks. Love it. Not a true French style bidet, but it does the job.

(Someone once asked which would work better to clean mud off your screen door - the garden hose or a wad of toilet paper...)

FWIW the first home I owned had one in the master bath. I thought it was pretty cool but never used the thing, of course.

This home was owned by an Hispanic couple from south Florida - maybe Cuban descent. It had a lot of nice features including pocket doors, generous closets, fully loaded kitchen, and a nice tiled lanai in back :)

Ha - just found a pic of that lanai. this place was in the country too - so nice! Mike - the roads in this community were fabulous for cycling! Long, flat, and empty! Back in those days I would ride almost every day after work. With the Tour about to start I need to resume the suffering!

Thanks Mike - it was nice while it lasted - I ended up moving across the state to be near the Atlantic Ocean (rather than the Gulf of Mexico).

I have some pics of a girl in that hot tub somewhere....talk about livin' large - yo! :p
