Bathroom sink faucet

Who would have thought choosing a new bathroom sink faucet would be so hard. Sink has got to go. Found some black granite cheap on CL. Perfect sink at Home Depot. Have looked at 50 faucets so far and still have to decide on chrome vs. brushed nickel. What do you think?

I would try to match up with the other hardware in the bathroom, unless you're doing all of it.

Yep, and nothing too bling as they date too soon.

I am doing it all, complete refresh, modern.

I'm leaning toward the very last one now.

I like the last one too. Don't think I'd like brushed nickel with a white sink.

Go with chrome. I have a sink just like that, brand new, that's in the pile going to habitat for humanity. It's a Kohler. I'll make you a heck of a deal.

Not the highest quality stuff so hopefully you're buying on the cheap. As others said, don't go too "blingy"

I'm getting the last faucet in chrome. Sending PM on the sink, I could have picked it up last weekend.

Granite has been procured. Craig's List is the best.

If you're looking for good quality avoid HD.

Go to a plumbing retailer or buy online.

That granite looks thin... built up edge? Are you going to cut it yourself?

Optical illusion at the break.....

Could probably make the straight cuts on a tile saw with water. If that sink undermounts, you will have to polish the inside edges.

Might be worth getting a price for the cuts & polish from a fabricator, before buying the blades.

That's my plan and yes, the sink undermounts. On the edges, I am strongly considering leaving them raw or at most, only cleaned up. I might like the contrast of the rough inside edges with the polished top.

$200 to get it cut and drilled, include polishing.

Just got an email, my faucet is on one week backorder, which will certainly be 2-3. I guess more time for paint and finding the right toilet. Almost scored a brand new Porcher at 30% but it has a scalloped base...opposite of modern. Also have to figure out new doors for the vanity. Dropping the 1/4" aluminum plate idea, might just do MDF with sharp edges and potentially make handles out of Al C-channel.

Can you glue that granite to a sheet of something, with quality wood for the edge?
After all that work it could be damaged by a mishap.

Give any thought to cutting the top and instead of using a cut out undermount sink one of those bowl type? that way you'd only be drilling holes instead of cutting out for the sink??
Undermounts are very expensive and gluing in the little grommet screw things can be a bt//ch if you haven't done before .
But... a man a patience and Utube and you're in

iv been a carpenter for 10 years and doing all that work to a granite top would scare the crap out of me. for 200 id have the pros do it for sure. youll have more than that in tools trying to do it yourself and theres a good chance itll go wrong

I'm really married to the undermount, it's clean and modern. The worst that can happen is I buy a $45 blade and make some test cuts (only need 22x31 out of the slab) and decide to bring it down the street to be cut if it's starting to look unmanageable.

I'm fairly handy and enjoy doing a job right, and creatively, so I don't think this will be too hard. Put in my own hot water heater, plumbing and made my own shower from scratch, and I think my plumbing is significantly better quality than whoever did the original.

Have to redo the shower though, I made a base using home insulation foam core and carbon fiber and then laid neopren over that. It was fantastic, the soft neoprene under foot felt seriously great, impossible to slip and it lasted 4 years but a gf somehow tore it so I'm thinking of making a slate base now to compliment the bombay mahogany stained luan walls. Definitely recommend wood walls for a shower.

I buy the Toto. I do not recognize the others. I am more concern about who make them then style at this point. Get back to you later on the granite.
