another toy followed me home ! boat

I've owned several boats over the past 25 years or so with the last one being a 13 ' Boston Whaler that I refurbished. Sold the Whaler and took a break for a while. About two months ago I started to get the itch for another one. Decided for me and the wife/grandchildren a center console was the way to go. Started searching the local Craigslist ads and there were quite a few to choose from. Looked at several and decided to go with this one. From what I can tell from the net Hydra Sports was a middle of the road quality boat from OMC one of many boat brands they sold. This one the hull is damn near perfect I only found two nicks in the hull about the diameter of a pencil or smaller. Jumped up and down on the entire interior no soft spots. Wiggled the outboard up/down the transom is solid as a rock. Nice clean Yamaha outboard and a trailer in perfect shape. Best of all I talked the seller down to a final price of $2600.00 ! I think I stole this one :D The only thing it needs is the seats are shot they are cracked/weathered but I'll get them redone in the fall for now just going to clean her up and use it. Here are some pics from the CL ad. And she fits in my garage so no storage hassles. I'm happy SmileWavy

Damn! How'd you talk him down that much?

I was in the right place at the right time the seller made the fatal error of saying " I have to sell it " which for me is code for I can save some money here ! I actually offered less but that is the number we agreed on.

Wow, $2600 down from an asking price of $5500?
You're right, you did steal it.
I'll bet that goes pretty nice with that Yamaha pushing it thru the water.
Nice score!

Today i vacumned all the nooks and crannies and then slid on the muffs to hook the garden hose to her. I was nervous as i had only heard it turn over but not run. I turned on the hose , primed the primer bulb and pulled the manual choke. Advanced the throttle a little , took a deep breath and turned the key. She fired right up and ran great. Put it in forward and reverse no issues. Wow what a relief ! I had it running for about 20 minutes no warning buzzers and a good stream of water out the pee hole. Tomorrow she gets washed inside and out. So far so good.
