Total: 9 wood tics found. None on the dog. :)
The city has mosquito traps and when the count gets high enough they start to fog. We had a bit of a storm here a couple days after being up in the bush. Before the storm, no mosquito's in my yard. After the storm blew them into the city the count hit 3,552 mosquitos. Here's a interactive map: Mosquito fogging to begin in the city To keep them at bay you buy the product with the highest Deet count in it. Wear long sleeve shirts and pants. When it gets really bad you wear a bug suit over everything and a bug hat. |
Either it's a good enough friend to go through that for free, or I wouldn't do it.
It does suck to have a 3/4 ton (or bigger) truck and trailer - you never knew you had so many friends. |
I wonder why the mosquito population is so high in your neck of the woods? It's the state bird where I'm from, Minnesota, but this sounds even worse.

The long cold winter had a lot to do with it. We had snow in May. It was colder here than on the surface of the planet Mars over the winter. Then the late Spring was coupled with a extremely wet spring (which is still happening). Areas got 3" of rain in 15 minutes last week and people are sandbagging. All that water makes prime breeding for mosquito's. :(
