No... the video is what it will look like once its completed. They have just started the blocking off of the sidewalks surrounding the property and putting up fences.
Was just there Sunday 8/31 for their monthly breakfast cruise in.

Its going to be a while converting what was once America's first Japanese department store !

I'm not sure that the exterior motif has anything to do with cars, looks like it would make a nice aquarium though.

This proposed new facade for the Petersen Automotive Museum is one of two similar designs that has received preliminary approval from the Los Angeles Planning Department. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, it would be built from a series of stainless-steel, curved ribbons meant to evoke Art Deco themes.

That is not a Art Deco influenced theme, it's not even the more free flowing Art Nouveau influence theme.

It looks like water or zebra stripes to me.

No lines like that on any car, ever.

What a sham.

Still, it looks cool................intellectually void though.
