I'm sad beyond words. One of the blues greats and we lost another blues legend.

RIP Johnny.

I saw him New Years Eve 1969....played for hours.

Then again last year.....they practically carried him onto the stage....still played for hours!

One of the best concerts I've ever seen. He could play with such energy and for so long, you got more than your moneys worth and left exhausted and happy. RIP.

Humongous loss. Truly sad.

Certainly lost a great one. Was fortunate enough to see him a handful of times over the last decade or so. The Muddy Waters' albums he produced and played on, are amongst my favorites.
On another note, happy to have scored an exceptional original pressing of Second Winter about 6 months ago. It's a great album.

"Second Winter" is really amazing and a fav. of mine but "Johnny Winter And" and "Johnny Winter And Live" are my 2 fav. JW albums.

I remember playing an 8 track of "JW And" in high school.

Since I have purchase in vinyl and CD. A must for the serious enthusiast.

....and unable to hear for almost two daze :D. Caught him only once...mid '80s in a club, and he came out prowling the stage like a caged tiger and played with the tenacity of a speed freakin' demon. I fell in love with side B of "Live Johnny Winter And" back when I was about 13... ('73 - older sis's album) and simply wore that side out on my parents' console stereo turned up to 10 :p.

RIP Johnny....I passed on seeing you in recent years (on purpose) cause I've got memories of "THAT NIGHT" that will remain intact forever and I didn't want to remember you any other way...
