Really? F1 isn't a fashion show or an art exhibit. Its a contest of the best driver, team strategy and machine combination. Maybe you'd like to award pole position to the prettiest paint job? Or even better, let's give bonus points for the Concours d'elegance winner before the start of the race.

I grant you that some of the newer race machines are ugly. The Porsche 919 is butt-ugly but
"form follow function"

Wrong. See below.

No, you are wrong. Form follows the rules, now more than ever. The rules dictate the shape and the current shape is not very pleasing.

If the engineers and aerodynamicists had their way the cars would look like an Edge 540. Airplanes are the purest manifestation of form following function.

I think people are starting to figure out that F1 is not a playground for political activism. The problems started when Jean Todt decided to mandate "green" technology in a faggy full out retreat and maneuver to appease Euro politicians, rather than fans. No one except for that weirdo Max Mosely was clambering for KERS and all the nonsense that follows from trying to save gas and tires. There is a reason that fan attendance and TV viewership is falling like a rock. It's because the rule-makers have forgotten to put the customers first, and the politicians last or not at all.

^^^^This! Internal combustion ONLY and no hybrid/electronic assist! Our next family car most likely will be a hybrid of some kind but we don't need that in F1. Somewhat amusing at how many here were anti-hybrid a few years back and now are embracing the technology in Le mans and F1.
And "totally unlimited"? Sounds cool but how long before it looked like a old Speed Racer cartoon?
