RIP Jim
enjoyed all the shows and movies you were in, the Baja races with your Oldsmobile "442", the mini cooper S we got from you :D, and the face that you were a true car guy (My sister got a brown firebird too !) Fond memories all |

Yep.. It had been crashed by a prospective buyer "test driving" it on twisty Sunset Blvd. The drive train went into my black cooper S. His wife had the identical car in dark red metallic with a rose metallic top.
There should be some pics floating around of Pontiac's Type K trans am station wagon, that he drove around. The cool wrap around back windows leaked like a sieve when wet |
RIP James
There still is no better open wheel racing movie as Grand Prix http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405877196.jpg As a kid growing up in England, we used to watch the Rockford Files as a family and that Firebird was the coolest car I'd ever seen!! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405877719.jpg |
One of my favorites too. He was quietly just a great actor. Never was flashy like some others & seemed to do his job & disappear back into a quiet life. I just saw Rockford Files once of twice in passing, but loved Maverick I tried to never miss it. RIP.

One of the best TV theme songs ever, by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter. Together they wrote an amazing amount of great tunes, with Post probably having as many widely recognizable songs as the Beatles.
For those of a certain age, Rockford Files was one of "those shows", and Jim Rockford one of those guy that you wished you had as a friend. God speed Mr. Garner. |

For an unrelated reason I was watching his Polaroid ads with Marianne Hartley.
RIP James Garner. |
So any of you west coast fellas able to tell us the parking lot that his trailer was in? The one over looking the ocean.
