Drunks

Amazing how alcohol changes a person's personality.

Current project of mine - was over there yesterday - owners are out of state - I'm doing irrigation and landscaping - they just had a new pool installed in the backyard - but the neighbors have a 2 story house with a deck that goes almost all the way around the top floor with a balcony - and you can hear them - unmistakably drunken banter - plus raspy voice (could be smokers as well) - drunks seem to always want to raise their voice - as if they are giving some kind of presentation.

But the crap they are saying is just that. Bilge.

Ultimately no one wants to hear their drunken rant.

I feel sorry for my clients - having drunks next door who will no doubt live on their deck - drinking - and ranting.

Of course I will have my headphones on from this point forward....:D

Nothing like hearing a drunk having an argument with himself at 2 am.

I have great neighbors so not a problem now but when we had some renters across the alley on occasion we would have a performance in the wee hours.

if i'm not mistaken, the drunker a person gets the worse their hearing gets. some sort of swelling or something around the ear.

A little raz. ;)

I quit drinking 32 years ago. My practice is either to go to bed or leave the area when people get drunk. I have no patience for it.

Luckily, I'm Finnish. So I'm a quiet, introspective drunk.

My stepmothers family....holy heck. Educated, successful people, but when the booze flows, they turn into bullhorns.

This is one of my biggest "pros" of semi-rural living. My nearest neighbor is about 300 yards away behind a patch of forest. Before this I lived in an 8-unit apartment building in Long Beach. I had several neighbors during my tenure - most were good but when I left the adjacent unit had gone from two UCLB girls who were very friendly, quiet and studious to three VERY swishy gay guys who liked to sit on he balcony 2' away from my living room window getting drunk nightly, often having boisterous lovers quarrels and I think deliberately making spectacles of themselves. I don't miss having nearby neighbors one teeny little bit.

Drunks as neighbors totally suck. And yes, they tend to smoke a lot too (disgusting plus butts everywhere).

Baz..... knowing where you are. .... They are probably tourists. .....One can only hope I guess lol

I'm the first one in six generations of the Douglas family to NOT be a drunk. I'm far to smart for that (plus I don't have the stomach for it either). After having grown up on the receiving end of having a drunk and violent father, I don't have any feeling of empathy towards drunks.
