What do you want in the background? Golden Gate Bridge, old graveyard, vineyard, action shot on a scenic corner? Stinson would not be bad, I think the road is in fairly good repair too. They shoot a lot of car commercials up there and down by Carmel.
If it were me, I would probably go to Mustard's or Domaine Chandon for lunch, then run up Oakville Grade and get some shots with the valley in the background

just how are some of you guys defining, "NEAR".?
![]() as far as picturesque roads, i would challenge anyone to best, "commercial road" near mount tam. it's good because you can actually stop to take a picture on a quiet day. not sure of the name, but that is what the motorcycle, sunday riders called it. but this road is actually a fair poke from the track. Alice's restarant..that is on the other side of the bay...it would be an old day run. near Sears point..take a back road drive from petaluma out to tomales bay..stop for oysters. pictures and bivalves..win. TRE...if you need anything, dont hesitate to PM me.

I'm out in West Marin and can assist if you let me know which way you are heading over to the track...
