help ! can of lighter fluid spilled in back seat floor.
t was at the bouckville antique show today and bought a can of old lighter fluid.
short version is that it upended and opened spilling about a pint of really smelly old stuff into the back carpet. so far the first thing i've thought of was setting a bag of charcoal on the floor and leaving it in the sun. any ideas would be welcome, thanks. |
A bag of charcoal, some steaks, and a match
|
Rub baking soda/talc powder/kitty litter in to soak up the liquid, then vacuum out when dry?
|
Ah, F'k it, light a match and buy a new one. Sorry man, I have nothing to contribute, but some smart ass remark.
|
Sop it up, dry it out with the windows down. Is it eating the carpet?
|
i'll automatically backburner (pun!) the strike a match replies, which i am glad to see comprise fifty percent of the first four responses. i like it and would expect no less.
i'll try the kitty litter and baking soda idea. sounds good. thanks. |
be glad you didn't tip over a automotive battery used for a trolling motor after a day of fishing..........
ummmm, yeah a friend of mine............ battery acid on carpet > evaporative no harm liquid. |
Isn't lighter fluid just naptha? which is sold a a dry cleaning solvent?
Windows down, park in sunlight... I bet in a few hours its all gone... |
