Downloadable Windows VMs

I thought I'd share this with everyone. I forget where I exactly found out about this, but I have found it to be very useful.

Microsoft has made available for download some virtual machines that have various configurations of Windows and Internet Explorer on each. There are VMs available for Windows, MAC & Linux systems. As I am a Linux user, I have found having access to these extremely handy when I have the very rare instance when I need to do something in Windows. It is also very helpful to not have to purchase a Windows license for the few times I need to spin up a VM in virtualbox.

Select your host OS and see what you can get. Please be aware that these are provided for "testing" purposes only.

Are you sure they're official images from Microsoft and not some russian website offering free images?
Seems legit but what do it know...

A whois lookup tells me that the modern.ie domain is owned by Microsoft. Plus, a google search turned this up. It may be where I originally read about it.

Beat me to it.

EULA says for testing only, expires in 90 days, don't activate it.
