Seemed like the right thing to do at the time ....

We all know what's going on with the VW market right now, crazy sky-high prices.
Split window bugs going to $65k, 23 window vans going to $75k,
a pile of rust that a long time ago was a bus going for $5k.

How would you like to be one of those guys who took a "worthless" rare bug or van and chopped it all to hell in an attempt to be cool and realize "oh shoot, that thing USED to be worth a lot of $$$$$"?

Not sure, but the first one might be real.

Yeah, sort of like my BIL who had a 63? split back window stingray and had the window modified to take out the split. He also tossed the matching numbers 327 when it needed a rebuild and dropped in a 350. And he did this only about 25 years ago. I think he tossed the original radio and put in a Sony or something that was "better".
