I have a motorcycle problem.
I am addicted to buying insanely dangerous toys.
Meet my Agusta's new dirt-oriented stablemate: The CR500. Photo makes it look far better than it is. This thing has been to hell and back. Engine runs like a bear on PCP. ![]() Bought mainly for the motor, which after some play time out in the desert will be coming out and going into my secret passion project- an Aluminum and carbon fiber road race GP bike. This thing though.. has an aura about it which is difficult to describe....

Dune Rocket! My kids called mine an old mans bike. I told them "yeah, and an F-18 is an old mans airplane".

You have 2 motorcycles. You do not have a motorcycle problem at all. Nice try!

Other than this new CR500, there is the MV Agusta, then a Suzuki DRZ 400S, and then my project race bike which uses bits from several other bikes (probably 3 more) that are chopped up in the back yard.

You're confusing the word problem with the word 'passion'. A mistake my wife frequently makes.

I don't understand the problem. Too many to close the garage door anymore, is that it?

You have good taste in vehicles sir. I have only been riding for nine years but have owned quite a few, in order below. I only still own the bottom two. I have diagnosed myself with "Motorcycle ADD"
2005 Triumph Thruxton 2007 BMW R1200RT 2007 Suzuki DRZ400S 1976 BMW R90 2004 BMW R1150GSA 2005 MV Agusta F41000S

Nah...you don't have a problem except for the part where you want to use a CR500 engine for a GP bike. But that's all right since it sounds like fun!

You haven't experienced anything in life until you've ridden a supermoto CR500.
Go ahead...try it.

You can solve this problem by buying 10 or 12 more...........It's truly a sickness...For me, it is bleeding over to John Deere also...

You don't have a motorcycle problem. You have a garage problem.
Keep the bikes, get a bigger garage. ![]() angela

I used to think that there was no such thing as too many motos. A month prior to leaving CA in '08, I owned 15...a few were grey market bikes. I sold 10 in a month, kept 5. I kept all 15 in the house - a bachelor with an 800 sq. ft. back room. I had this Cagiva Mito 125 parked in my living room and justified that by saying it was my "fashion statement". I've matured somewhat since - only have 3 now and soon only 2. . ![]()

CR500s are terrifying when rung out!
Tell us more about the RR project bike... for example, how do you plan on keeping the CR500 motor from coming apart on long straights? Which frame? Aprilia RS250?

Mine have spilled out of the house and garage into a rented storage space
