Might well be my friend Tony G. He used to post here. I think he's spend upwards of $70K on the car.

Early 911s are beyond the reach of the average buyer. They now can be found in collections gathering dust. They certainly don't offer nearly the performance of any of the cars you listed without investing cubic dollars on top of their already hefty price of entry. Not really a valid comparison in any way.

Good point....

I think it is "Tony". He's a very nice guy and safe and fun to race with. I like him.

+1 From first hand experience...Unless you go crazy with a 993 turbo motor, even "cubic dollars" can't match it from a performance standpoint.

It cost me $26K to produce a 300hp 3.4L "streetable" motor for my hot rod...from a case, rods, and heads I provided! That's more than the total cost of a low-mileage Z06 for over 100 LESS HP, with no A/C. Plus, I still have the low RPM cough of PMO's vs. state-of-the-art MP-EFI. Put on modern MFI or EFI on a 911 and you sink another $15K.

NO S#!T!!! Stupid me. I could have restored it to stock as a collector and bought a nice Z06 as a track monster with the money I saved. Hindsight is 20/20

You should have just built a turbo 3.2 and diet your car down to 2300. Z06's usually get a nice long look at my Ducktail. :D
