The entire car was unwrapped and we could finally see the paint job that was done to this Vitesse. To explain the story behind how they came up with the design, they basically take the car into a detail booth where they paint buff their final vehicles. Inside of their booth, they have a surrounding dome of lights that overhang the entire car. They actually mask off the reflections of the lights on the car and base the paint off the reflections leaving behind a crazy, marble like paint scheme.

A work colleague and I discussed the paint a bit. The idea of how to get the lines is very cool, but the red/black scheme doesn't seem to be the best to show the work off.

I like it. It would be really hard to "trace" the reflections, I would think, because they'd always be moving...

Mount some super high res cameras in teh right spots, take plenty of digital pics, do some photoshop work, maybe wrap results around a 3d model in Blender or similar, project onto car w/ super high quality projector, then mask, etc.

Maybe me, too. I get it that the car costs more money than I'll make in a lifetime, combined. And for bragging rights and technological prowess it's neato that it has 1000+ HP and can do 250+ mph. But man, that car doesn't seem to have a good angle no matter the color combo, IMgeriatricO. And super-complicated and labor-intensive paint job or not, it might as well be a wrap for all my fading eyesight can tell. I just don't get it. Apparently not my cup of tea.
