i get those calls too.. i inform them that i work for the fbi in internet security and we have a lock on their number... gets real quiet after that...

My wife works at a University and knows a lot of the help desk people. She knows which ones are helpful and which are useless.

One the the good ones is from India and has the accent we all are familiar with. He bought a new Dell computer for his personal ome use. He actually needed tech support when he had a hardware problem he needed a warranty replacement part. He got a support person name "Bob" that had such bad English and a very thick accent that he could not understand the tech support person. He finally asked "Bob" what part of India he was from and they discovered they spoke the same dialect of Hindi and they carried out the rest of the conversation in Hindi. Now THAT is cheating! :cool:
