Just to wrap up my report, I ended up in another store when a group of my colleagues wanted to go. I will admit that I was the ringleader. We visited Native Roots Apothecary at 16th & Champa. It was cheaper & a better experience. After an ID check (note: a foreign driver’s license is not sufficient ID, they will need a passport), we sat in the waiting area for a few minutes before being ushered inside to our own personal pot expert. He had his own counter with all of the ‘medication’ options on display & he was happy to explain the usage & expected result of each & every delivery method. Patches, strips, gummy bears, cookies, drinks, vaporizers, the varieties of hash-type products & of course, the ‘leaf’ varietals. The vap pen was only $10 here & a cartridge was $25 – so considerable savings over the first place I went to. Cash or debit card accepted - except their computer retail program crashed (used by all pot retailers btw) & the debit card machine was unusable.
So, we had our smokeless pot party. In fact - several. And the non-smokers were not overwhelmed because there was next-to-no smell & certainly no residual $250 odor. Although one guy bought the best leaf – Flow – which we had to sample outside in the hotel parking lot at one point. It was a lot of fun for all. And we all left all of our paraphernalia + excess in the hotel for the maids to throw out or donate to a good cause . . .
And it was a good show for us as well. Next year it is in Dallas - which won’t be anywhere near as much fun.
