Slight leak in the monsoon, does my theory hold water?

So here's my theory. We have a bad pigeon problem, which I know we need to take care of as soon as it cools off. Looks like some of the pigeon crap blocked up the water flow, water backed under a tile and ran down in the garage through the hole and onto my car. Does this make sense to the brain trust? First time we've had this problem in all the rain this year. Poked all around on the Sheetrock and it's not soft so it seems to have all drained out.

I see your soffit areas are all open and we had ours "canned" years ago when the roof was replaced. We had trouble with birds and other things like wasps and bees so we had the whole house soffit area covered. I would suggest looking into that idea or birds will continue to cause issues.

Sid, Your theory is sound.
In both my houses Mesquite leaves blocked water flow in the flashed channels that are either in the valleys or where a lower roof meets an upper level wall.
When it cools down, pull up just enough tiles to gain access to the flashed channel. Clean out all debris. Rinse & Repeat. On both my houses the boards running horizontal, to hold the tiles on, were too long and stuck out into the channel catching debris and starting the blockage. Trim those back.

Do you have attic access above the outlet box? If not, you can remove the box and take picture with your phone to see if the water is coming from the direction you think it is.

My car gets dripped on by the garage door if it is opened during or shortly after a rain.

If you need a roofing guy text me. My guy is cheep and good, but hard to get a hold of if the crappie are biting.

And I definitely will need someone to come out if tiles have to come off. I've never messed with a tile roof. I'll leave it to professionals!

Yea, it's pretty thick out there.

FWIW, the tiles just lift off. The first row is typically the only ones nailed down. The layering of one over the other along with the ribs on the back side are what keep them in place. If you have the tiles that look like waves (one peak & one valley), make sure you step on the peak & not the valley to avoid cracking it. They get very slick when wet. Sitting down when possible is your best bet. Your pants will be the color of the tile when you're finished so dress accordingly.

I've followed this thread out of interest and I have some questions/observations for the OP. I don't understand how the pigeon droppings could cause a leak as you describe as there is (or should be) a waterproof membrane under the tiles. If water gets under the tiles, it should flow down the membrane and not penetrate the interior unless there is a break/hole in the membrane itself. The only place where water might get under the membrane (barring a hole in the membrane itself) is around the flashing where the vertical wall meets the roof . So I guess I'm asking, does your roof have a membrane under the tiles, and just where in the photo do you suspect the blockage has occurred?

IMO, a more likely scenario is the wiring is conducting the water into your garage from some remote location, not associated with the area above the outlet. Not knowing where that wiring runs can make tracking down a leak difficult. Do you know where the wiring in the outlet leads or the path it follows? Some of that wiring looks like low voltage/bell wire or telephone wire. Is there any place where the grey wire exits the interior of the garage? The leak may even be from a window, if the wiring passes through the framing under it.

Just a heads up. My neighbor just told me we are to get more rain this week from yet another hurricane. Did you guys get your roofs buttoned up?

No... :(. I'll try to knock the obstructions off the roof so it drains off
