Hey you F4 drivers
I recently sat in the cockpit of one and wondered how much adjustment there is in the seat? I could reach everything fine but I assume the seat was jacked way up for the kids because I couldn't see through the HUD. The Viper cockpit was about right for me, but the Phantom seat would have been tall even for Tom Cruise.
That said, it would still be a blast to fly one.

Not a driver, but crewed RF-4Cs and F-4Es in the Air Froce once upon a time.
Seat up and down. The rudder pedals adjust fore and aft. The ol' MartinBaker did a good job but it wasn't designed for ergonomics. See through the HUD? Few Phantoms had a true HUD iirc, and nothing like the viper HUD.

OK, maybe I should have phrased it gun site.
The seat must have been up about as far as it goes. Boy, I can't imagine how closed in it would feel if it were down several inches. You don't have great viability compared to the Eagle or Viper.

Well, it's a gun SIGHT only... if it had guns... many did not... originally they did not, just missles.

So how did you aim bombs?
I know it was an interceptor but then was used as a bomb truck, Reconnaissance, Wild Weasel, ... Yeah, my spelling and syntax isn't great the last few days. I blame lack of sleep.

Evidently my reading comprehension is off too. I read that to mean it was only a sight for guns. Now I understand what you wrote. Please wait while I go bleach my hair.

Not me. Well only in sims. Emily and I did set high score for the day at WPAFB Museum. Would have done better if it were more realistic.
