Imbedded advertising in Pelican threads on my Apple.
I recently upgraded my Apple operating system and afterword,my otherwise, virus free, spyware free, favoritepelican parts URL, is now full of embedded ads IN every damn thread I open.
There are Tire ads, specific to tires I searched on the web, Adp personnel threads,Hotel ads for Atl. City, insurance ads, etc. etc.! Yetch - very intrusive. I am not liking it , especially since it's only happening on Pelican. If anyone knows how to disable/prevent it,it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kramer |

I do not know if it works with Apple.
However I downloaded Adblock Edge and eliminated those ads when they showed up all of a sudden. If I remember correctly I someone here suggested it. |
He is not logged in.
The update logged him out. |
I'm on Android, and the AdBlock Plus proxy app nips all that crap in the bud; AFAIK there isn't an Adblock Edge version yet. (For a fee, AdBlock plus will whitelist an advertiser; AdBlock Edge is a fork that has not sold out)

Got it. Thanks.

I'm not seeing these ads... whether I'm logged in or not. What could account for that?

I only log in to post when I have something maybe helpful to add to a discussion, or a bit of wisdom on racecar prep or to post on that what you had for dinner thread...
burp/. Other than that I view the site as a guest.... Using Mozilla, and ghostery I see no embedded adds... (on a home made 64 bit Win 7 machine) Now back to lurking  |
