Gotta show those little bastards who's boss!

Obviously those gun control measures are working out well.

Rot 911 09-16-2014 11:25 AM

Well you can't whip the kids with a switch, that will just get you in all kinds of trouble.

Hugh R 09-16-2014 11:30 AM

Saw that. Why do the LAUSD "need" grenade launchers? I need to check with the wifey, she is an administrator of a small Ventura County school district that focuses mostly on agricultural science. Maybe they can get some Napalm for clearing dormant crop land.

Not surprised at all. The Pentagon has been handing out MRAPs like Chiclets to LEO agencies all over the country, for free. I guess it's better than paying (more) taxpayer money to have them (all) scrapped. However, it's a little disconcerting that the Pentagon is directly supplying state and local law enforcement agencies with military hardware of that magnitude (and cost), completely gratis. Of course, private citizens and businesses are lot allowed to participate in the "giveaway" program.

So the Pentagon has some surplus. WTH put some in storage and stop wasting our tax dollars on stuff they don't need leo's can barrow a brinks truck when need arises.

scottmandue 09-16-2014 12:22 PM

Yeah... so? :p

Anyone care to guess what happens if we engage in another conflict, and actually need some of this equipment?

scottmandue 09-16-2014 12:47 PM

The various defense contractors would gladly sell us brand new ones.

Hugh R 09-16-2014 12:55 PM

But in CA you can't own a handgun now that holds more than 7 rounds. It's for the children, you dumb snots.

flipper35 09-16-2014 01:45 PM

Would have been a great way to teach drivers ed at our school.

Can't have the citizenry denting their pretty new APC.

You know, with an MRAP and grenade launchers they could take shooting up the wrong truck to a whole new level!

VINMAN 09-16-2014 05:22 PM

I could definitely use an MRAP for my commute to the city everyday...

It has been 10 rounds for years. When did it drop? And I assume if that is law older handguns are grandfathered in.

nostatic 09-16-2014 05:43 PM

LAUSD is a profoundly screwed up organization. DoD is a profoundly screwed up organization (loosely defined). It is a match made in heaven...

BlueSkyJaunte 09-16-2014 06:01 PM

Q: How do you get around posse comitatus?

A: Hire a bunch of low IQ thugs who'll "just follow orders" and give them all kinds of toys that the average citizen doesn't have access to.

+1. I know Hugh recently got a S&W shield in .40. Is the magazine 7 rounds due to the form factor or is that the new CA max?

surflvr911sc 09-16-2014 07:19 PM

Form factor, single stack subcompact. 10 rounds is law.
