Looks to me like he didn't have the chin strap fastened. Idiot...

WOW SauCy - that guy does have some skills!!!

For the idiot in the room, right before he launches fir exits from somewhere in front of the front left wheel. WTH is that? Nitrous?

And what happened to wheelie wheels? Are they no longer allowed? It seems like they would have kept the front wheels on the ground so he could steer.

It's the exhaust, fire is from the computer allowing the car to rev and build boost. The faster the fire bangs happen, the faster the boost is up and they leave.

Probably no wheelie bars because...BALLS

Seat belts to sheet metal, there's your problem there Clark.

File this under: if it can go wrong it will! Life favors the prepared and this guy was plain lucky! I can't imagine building a car like that, with that amount of HP, running it down a track, and only wearing a helmet that didn't even look to be strapped to his chin! And being that there were spectators (not a "for pinks" street race), wasn't there a tech inspection? Something to catch the improperly mounted belts/harness?
