New PayPal scam
 

Called last week by someone with a return number of (888)-895-5610

They said a PayPal credit card payment had been reversed and I needed to "take care of it".

I said, not sure if this was a scam or not, "I'm not at my desk and I would need to check my account".

He persisted. I said I was not going to do anything until I checked my account after lunch.

Checked: No issues. Anyway, I'm not selling things and taking payments with PayPal anyway.

SCAM - BEWARE

And they are calling today as well...

I had a similar call and I just asked him if pay pal was my pal that pays for lunch?

He hung up.

Hey, I just used PayPal to pay the guy calling from Microsoft Windows about the virus I had on my computer!

Wait a second....
Paul (widgeon) wants me to pay him for his iPhone via PayPal and he gave me his phone #.
He wouldn't be one of......Nah.

I would be suspicious. You might be on to someone truly heinous. Just think . . . he has only been a member here for under 9 years. This means he has diabolical patience. And his post count? That's just filler. Waiting quietly for the right opportunity to strike. And you are it.
