Singapore F1 GP
It's kinda confusing but it looks like the race is on Sun 0900 ATL time (0800 EST), and I think quali is on Sat from 10-11 AM ATL time. Hope this is right, btw IMO this is one of the least enjoyable races, but still don't want to miss it.
Guess all eyes will be on Ham and Nico, Bottas and Riccardo, Alonso and Vettel. Maybe there'll be some surprises. Last edited by yellowperil; 09-17-2014 at 11:07 AM.. |

Practice is live on NBCSP at 6:30am Pacific time. Qualifying is live on CNBC at 6:00am Pacific time. The race is live on NBCSP at 4:30am Pacific time.
That is confusing.

My prediction:
Hamilton has had a run of pretty good luck. He's probably due for another DNF or mechanical issue. Nico will then fade back to nurse his car in, and Ricciardo wins again.

Very confussing...
Alonso. He has plenty of stories and experience on that track, including Briatory's deal... But the Williams are becoming strong. |

Interesting practice today, with drivers asking "can I ask ......." or "are you allowed to tell me........". Tire strat seems to be the big thing at this track, softs very fast.
Guess who crashed? |

Gotta be that idiot Maldonado. He can't drive and think at the same time. Without someone on the radio telling him when to brake and turn, he's hopeless.
They should take all the buttons off of his steering wheel. Or fine him for distracted driving. Or replace him with someone that can drive. Something... JR |

Seems Williams was nowhere today (17 and 18) in practice, hope they have a better tomorrow
for quali. We shall see. Still not my favorite race by a long shot. |

Good quali, entertaining right to the 0.00. Fun to watch replay of Massa's hot lap to get him into final quali. He did most of the lap on two wheels, or so it seemed.

Another edge of my seat finish. How brutal the conditions in the cockpit must be. To hear the radio call from Kvyat - his drink bottle failed! That last pit by Ham and to nip Ricciardo out was cool.
I have to go see this race live one day. I've been on the paddock, can't imagine how great this must be at night.

Be interesting to hear the explanation of what went on during the Williams pit stop...

Yeah, it's odd to see the helmet slap. Didn't I see Maldonado drive away with the air gun still on the wheel? Not his fault though, he was released.

Well I sure got that one wrong.
Spoilers!!! I made my prediction assuming that because I want Hamilton to win, But with him I have to prepare myself for the worst thing happening. I'm very happy for Hamilton, but sad for Rossberg. Even thought I've seen him as the villain for much of this season, I would still rather see Hamilton beat him on track and take the title with more DNFs under his belt. Hamilton seems to have finally found some maturity after 7 seasons in F1. I think he's finally getting the advice he needs at Mercedes. The safety car seemed a little contrived this time. The race didn't need it, and it went on for much longer than necessary. Hamilton seems to be putting in 110% as the season closes, while Rossberg is getting some of the bad luck that plagued his teammate early on. Vettel seemed very hungry this race, and was finally able to hold his teammate back.

I heard a lot of what I thought was driver coaching. They told Riccardo to adjust his braking (avoid the curbs or something). They told Vettel to "stand down." They told Vettel something else that was borderline coaching. I think there was something else as well, perhaps to a Force India driver? I forget...

Re Maldonado: It was reported over the weekend that he's signed with Lotus for next year. That huge wallet he brings with him casts a huge shadow, doesn't it.

That huge wallet can't be big enough to pay for the number of cars he writes off.
