Bill.com Scam?

Just started getting some emails from a company I had never heard of before.

Bill.com
Email address payment@bill.com I wouldn't click on this!!

Body of message:
We could not process your Full Payment Submission. The submission for reference ***/UT0598502 was successfully received and was not processed. Check attached copy (PDF Document) for more information.

Regards,

Bill.com Payment Operations

I didn't open the attachment that is with it. PDF

Has anyone had scam mail from them before or dealings with them?

Probably a scam but if you post the whole headers for the email that would tell you for sure

billybek 09-26-2014 07:57 AM

Would their header on the email be clickable?
This one is not.

The two emails I have received from them this morning have different reference numbers.

I called my credit card companies to see if there was any activity but nothing since my last purchase.

Article on this:
Spoofed Could not process Online Submission for Reference 475/RA8746193-UK Government Gateway -Spam- Fake PDF Malware

Don't click on the link that came with the e-mail. Article says odds are it will install Cryptolocker virus on your computer.

My understanding is the company is legit and serves businesses in managing their cash flow. If you have not signed up with them for your billing needs, there is no reason for them to contact you. If you made a payment to a company that had signed with them, there may be a reason for the email, though I doubt it.

It is a legitimate business so you might try to contact them (Contact Bill.com | Customer Service | Sales | Request More Information | Bill.com) and ask about the email and ask if the email address you received is real.

edit: LeeH posted as I typed and I agree with his assessment. This is a variation on a scam to install a virus on your computer. Trash the email.

I keep getting a spam email that says it is from EZ Pass. They say I did not pay my toll. Problem one is I don't even know where the closest place with a EX pass turnpike is. Problem two, how would they get my work email address from my personal car. I don't have a company car. The attache a PDF but I ain't gonna open no PDF from a spammer, ever.

I will continue to place as much importance to it as I do to the weight loss and viagra spam.

I went to their website and initiated a chat with one of their customer support people. He asked me to forward both emails.
They were aware that their company name was being used in an email scam.

Does this mean I'm not getting six million dollars from the Nigerian prince Abdula?
